About Ty
A Californian with roots planted deeply in the south, 20 year old Ty Nelson has his sights set high. "I've always seen myself on the stage at the Opry," he confesses. After performing live in front of staffers, Nashville based Country Weekly wrote that they think he'll get there.

Born and raised in California, Ty is the oldest of triplets. "Thank God we don't look alike," jokes Ty, "it's great being a triplet and I'm very blessed to have the family I do." Ty now lives full time in Nashville.

Success is measured in small but determined steps that include touring for the Veteran's Administration, appearances with the Marshall Tucker Band, opening a convention of the American Red Cross, accepting a prestigious invitation to appear in New York and perform on the deck of the USS Intrepid, among many others. On Memorial Day, 2006, Ty and his band, after a successful appearance in San Francisco, flew cross country to Washington, D.C., to perform at the first Memorial Day Parade to be held in D.C., since World War Two. "I was incredibly honored," says Ty.

Since releasing his last record in 2005, Ty's received national radio play of his music and has been featured in Parade Magazine, Reader's Digest, Country Weekly and Sweet 16, among others.

Most recently though, Ty and his band performed late in 2006 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for over 8,000 people, apart of a massive event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. "It was an incredible night playing for such a great audience and even more moving to meet the people we did and hear the stories of cancer survivors. It's a night I won't soon forget," says Ty.

Since then, Ty's been in the recording studio working with producer Julian King on an upcoming album, set for release in April of this year. Ty said, "I'm incredibly excited about this record and am so thrilled to be working with such great people and with such a great producer. We've cut a lot of songs and it's going to be tough to narrow it down to the final ones that make this record. I'm proud of the records I've released in the past but am the most excited about this one...I guess people say that all the time about their new projects (laughs).... Needless to say, the fans will be the best judges of this record and I hope they like it."

So, keep your ears open for Ty's new music. There's a lot of exciting things happening and, guess what? You're still one of the first to know.
